THE VALUE AND IMPORTANCE OF SYSTEM CERTIFICATION

06/07/21

For any company, big or small, choosing a trusted industrial or commercial partner is a complex, delicate process. When selecting a supplier, particularly for electrical appliances – which are strictly regulated on the international market – competence, professionalism and reliability are all fundamental elements. Particularly when dealing with supplies of components or services that are decisive elements in production processes, when errors or delays can have serious consequences.

So how is it possible to recognise these elements as well as reputational information, which is often difficult to check in advance?

One of the tangible symbols is certainly system certifications, which are issued when certain standards are met in a specific field of activity. Issued by independent bodies that perform the necessary inspections and make sure that the certified levels are maintained over time through periodic audits and renewals, they guarantee the process of objective evaluation.

The world’s most important organisation dealing with the definition of technical standards and the requirements to be met for issuing certifications is ISO -International Organization for Standardization-.  ISO standard certificates are valid in 164 countries, guaranteeing the application of common technical standards worldwide. Italy is one of the member countries, through UNI – Italian National Unification Body-.

Having ISO standard certification offers customers a guarantee and demonstrates the company’s commitment to and responsibility in continuing to improve its processes and comply with the standards; it also provides an objective, standardised, transparent and international technical framework of reference.

Certification is part of the Domus Line DNA. Using a holistic approach, the company has developed a conformity process that starts from its products and extends to the whole company system. Process quality, environmental sustainability, occupational health and safety, ethical principles and administrative responsibility are all certified by independent bodies, in addition to a full package of product certificates. An integrated system complying with the international standards ISO 9001:2015 (Quality management system), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental management system) and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational health and safety management system), ethical principles ETI (Ethical Trading Initiative) and Italian Legislative Decree no. 231 of 8 June 2001 – the Italian Law governing the administrative responsibility of legal entities and associations -.
The ecosystem generated by this path extends to a series of principles concerning a wide range of company actions: from customer satisfaction to integrated communication, from careful administrative management to correct risk assessment.

The international health emergency has thrown down an unprecedented challenge, and Domus Line has reacted with balanced actions based on accuracy and without simplifications, with the primary aim of implementing measures to fight and contain infection, guarantee the constant operations in the departments (production, warehouses and offices) and safeguard its customer service. Today more than ever, Domus Line’s deep trust in the force of change has exploited the need to adapt and redesign its way of doing business as a formidable and successful lever for decision-making.

In such a critical scenario, Domus Line’s resilience has fully demonstrated the value and importance of basing its own decisions on a mature, reactive, pro-active organisational structure firmly founded on coded and certified processes. Once again, on 7 June 2021, the prestigious Swiss certification body SQS confirmed its certification of the integrated management system.
